Life Drawing - 5th Dec.

This week in life drawing I found it both quite easy and challenging; I found it much easier to draw a male model rather than a female model, although I had trouble with foreshortening on some poses. In the future I'd like to get some more shading onto the sketches to make them more realistic.
My general composition of the human body is getting better week by week and I can see that I'm starting to believe how the body is positioned more than what my mind is telling me that's wrong and should be changed.

Life Drawing - 28th Nov

I found this week's life drawing difficult compared to the other weeks; I'm not sure why, I think the combination of not feeling up to scratch and the difficult angles I kept getting. I feel as if I'm slowly improving, especially with the second of these drawings as they seem to be getting more life-like. The first of these drawings here didn't turn out quite right as I drew the model sat up on the mattress, however I did do a quick sketch of her leant back to remind me of her position.

Life Drawing - 22nd Nov

Dave's life drawing was a lot different to the usual life drawing lessons; we looked more at the structure of the model, rather than the curves and shape. We still used the pencil measuring technique to get the right angles and height correct and in proportion.

Life Drawing - Outdoors

The other life drawings from before the downpour of typical English weather - the wooden hut is shaded, but the proportions of the side are wrong compared to the rest of the drawing; this is probably because I kept drawing with the paper at an angle.

The other life drawing of a leaf from a nearby bush - I tried not to heavily detail it and instead sketch it more as I'm used to sketching and perfecting it until it's almost identical. I wish I'd kept the original lines instead of rubbing them out, old habits die hard I guess

Life Drawing - Skeleton

Today we did some life drawing of skeletons after the huge downpour meaning would couldn't sit outside and sketch. I chose to do just the teeth and the fabric as I struggled with the positioning of the teeth the last time we drew the skeletons. I think I'm slowly improving, but I need to start doing more rough sketches rather than perfecting them all the time.
